School Field Trips

The Depot Musem offers curriculum based guided tours for school children Preschool to Grade 12.  A Field Trip to the Museum Complex can be tailored to fit all age groups.  The staff will work with a teacher to provide a tour that enhances social studies curriculum and meets local history and State TEKS requirements.

Typical Historical tours for 3 and 4 year olds include a walk through The Arnold Outhouse
The Walling Cabin and the Mo-Pac Caboose with plenty of time scheduled in the
Children's Discovery Center

Please try to plan field trips well in advance as the popularity of our facility tends to keep our schedule quite full.  Tours planned for the spring require the most notice.  The Lion's Club Pavilion is also available upon request.  This is an excellent place for refreshments, picnicking, or for an outdoor activity.

The average tour through the Depot Museum's Living History Complex
will include the following activities:

The Beall-Ross Home Video Introduction of Rusk County

Guided Tour 8 Historical Buildings

Hands On Learning Experience in
